Snapchat’s New eCommerce System

Just as Facebook and Twitter have announced that they are getting into eCommerce, Snapchat appears to be trying to get in on the action too. The popular mini photo and video sharing social network bought trademarks for two payment related systems last week.

Just as Facebook and Twitter have announced that they are getting into eCommerce, Snapchat appears to be trying to get in on the action too. The popular mini photo and video sharing social network bought trademarks for two payment related systems last week.

It appears that Snapchat hasn’t developed any prototypes yet as they haven’t filed for any new patents recently. However, it has been speculated that Snapchat will likely integrate these trademark payment systems by either offering little 10 second flash sales for advertisers and eCommerce stores or maybe a P2P payment space where people can send money to each other via the text message type system they are currently using.

Well, it worked for Venmo. Am I right?
